The Unofficial Crowdsourced AWS 2014 re:Invent Guide: Booth Swag, After-Parties and Key Sessions
The post below is our archived guide to AWS reInvent 2014.
The growth of AWS re:Invent is nothing short of amazing. Given the massive scale that this event has reached, I felt it was time to publish the “Unofficial Crowdsourced AWS re:Invent Guide: Booth Swag, After-Parties and Key Sessions” to share collective experience and insights from hundreds of AWS sponsors.
UPDATE: The guide really took off and with 5,000+ views, VentureBeat featured it in a guest post, “Check out this guide to all the best stuff to do at the AWS conference this week“, which was awesome… but we wanted to make it even better. So we turned the crowdsourced blog guide into the mobile AWS Re:Invent Guide, a great smartphone wingman to the fun and madness of the conference. Now you can walk the expo floor, guide in hand and you’ll know all the best booths to visit, ditto for the after-parties on the strip, or sessions to attend. If you are at the show: Bookmark it!
While AWS published a great re:Invent conference app, there’s 46.5 hours of other event goodness (not counting after-parties) to choose from. Loggly teamed up with a bunch of other sponsors to seed and curate the inaugural crowdsourced AWS reInvent Guide, a list of can’t-miss experiences: after-parties, booth swag and key sessions for you.
Use the tabs below, bookmark then get #VegasKarma and by tweeting the reInvent Guide with the 12,000+ new DevOps best friends you’ll meet in just over a week!
In three years, AWS re:Invent has become the global #CloudWorldSeries, doubling in size every year and selling out even faster. How ubiquitous is AWS with cloud? Attendee badge titles are now of “Director of AWS”, a true Amazon Marketing coup and #cloudslam.
But with so much to do—more than 260 sessions to attend and 250+ sponsors to meet over four days in no-sleep Las Vegas— you’ll need to plan your time wisely.
While David Letterman has a famous top 10 list, this Dave will leave you with Top 5:
- If you expect Uber to give you a ride to your hotel, not yet. 🙁 Sign the petition and get them ready for 2015!
- If you only read one survival guide, read this one from Cloudability.
- If you are allergic to (or don’t think DevOps people can be fun) skip the re:Play party.
- If you attend only one booth (after Loggly) go to CloudVelox, Booth #1242. Win a FREAKING DRONE!
- If you get outside during the four days, skip packing an umbrella because the weather looks awesome.
Please stop by our booth #850 to say hi, schedule a demo of our latest feature release, or participate in a UX review. And if you enjoy the AWS re:Invent Guide, please share on twitter as a thank you.
