re:Invent 2015 re-cap: Hoover has cabin fever!
And…we’re back! The Loggly team had a great time at this year’s show (and so did Hoover, as you can see below!) and we wanted to share some highlights from our experience.
Cabin fever, new features, demos and limited-edition shirts – oh my!
We had a blast hanging at Hoover’s log cabin for the week and demoing our newest features: Live Tail, Anomaly Detection and Derived Fields Custom Parsing.
We’re excited to be introducing these capabilities to Loggly customers, especially our most requested feature, Live Tail.
Loggly Live Tail is unique because it allows users to view a real-time stream of logs from all hosts in a single command line window, simplifying and greatly decreasing the time to analyze code and deployment changes.
In addition to new feature demos and general Q&As on the updates, we also gave away some Loggly swag – including our limited-edition #reInvent 2015 shirts! We enjoyed meeting each of the attendees that stopped by booth #929 and really loved seeing our Loggly swag at the conference:
We also had some cool shout outs from vendors and attendees alike on our unofficial, official re: Invent Guide, booth design and general friendliness:

Session Faves & #reInvent Shenanigans
In terms of the show itself, our team definitely had some favorite sessions:
“There was one talk that Netflix gave about anomaly detection and building self-healing systems. That one was pretty neat, especially since we’re going in a similar direction at Loggly.”
– Elizabeth Bennett, Software Engineer
Check out a recording of the session – BDT207 – here on AWS’ YouTube page!
“Netflix’s session on Presto and Spark was definitely my favorite.”
– Manoj Chaudhary, CTO & VP of Engineering
Check out a recording of the session – BDT303 – here on AWS’ YouTube page!
“I really enjoyed the Elasticsearch launch session that discussed AWS integration options. I also checked out their new BI product called QuickSight – I need to sign-up for a preview because I would love to try it with Loggly.”
– Jason Skowronski, Senior Product Manager

And, what would #reInvent be without some Vegas memories? Check out our behind-the-scenes experience at the show, below:
Hoover recruited some Loggly team members to get his home all set-up pre-re:Invent
We learned that building a cabin makes you hungry!
#reInvent in Vegas means naptime wherever and whenever possible.
Team outing at the Wynn!
We had a blast at the re:Play closing party, featuring Zedd.
Save the date!
AWS re: Invent 2016 is November 28 – December 2 at the Venetian/Palazzo in Las Vegas. Ready for a repeat, #reInvent? We sure are!
